Electro-mechanical test bench for the
automatic displacement of weights on the models of "MORO di VENEZIA"
and "LUNA
ROSSA"
The system allows to displace appropriate weights
up to 4500 N into a plane installed on the model according to
pre-fixed logics so to simulate the variable displacement of the
crew. The system has been specifically projected and
realised for I.N.S.E.A.N. (Rome) and used for the tests on the
model of "MORO di VENEZIA" for the Americas Cup
and re-utilised for the tests on the model of "LUNA
ROSSA".

Oleo-dynamic
test bench for models of submarines
in ship model basin
The system has been realised in
such a manner so to execute on models of submarines
movements of X, Y, Z translations, roll, pitch and
yaw. It is composed of a metal structure attached to a
dynamometric carriage, which runs along an
hydrodynamic towing tank with length close to 500 m.
The external structure of the system is connected to
the model by means of a vertical pole that allows the
immersion of the model to a maximum dept of almost 3
m. At the end of the vertical pole is positioned the
underwater system that operate roll and pitch movements
of the model. Electrical, pneumatic and oleo-dynamic
plants that command and control the system pass
through the vertical pole. Hydrodynamic actions on the
model are measured by means of a 6 component dynamic
cell and transferred to an acquisition system on the
dynamometric car.

Interface
for Y, Z translation and roll of ship models for hydrodynamic
test in
ship model basin
The system allows to realise movements of Y
translation, yaw and roll, meanwhile the movement of pitch and
Z translation are still free.
It is composed of a metal structure attached to a
dynamometric carriage, witch runs along an
hydrodynamic towing tank with length close to 500 m.
The external structure of the system is connected to
the model by means of a vertical pole at the end of
whom is attached the Interface. Hydrodynamic actions
on the model are measured by means of a 6 component
dynamic cell and transferred to an acquisition system
on the dynamometric carriage.

System for
the measure of Inertial Moments of submarines and
ships models with weight up to 50.000 N for tests in
ship model basin
The system allows to determine
Inertial Moments of elements, in particular ships and
submarines models with weight up to 50.000 N , by
means of the measures of the typical parameters of the
proper oscillation to whom the elements are subjected.
In particular, for models of submarines and ships, are
measured and determined Inertial Moments of roll,
pitch and yaw.

Apparatus for
performance tests on propellers in
hydrodynamic towing tank
The apparatus has been
realised for I.N.S.E.A.N. of
Roma. It is installed on an
hydrodynamic carriage for towing tank
and allows to execute hydrodynamic
tests on propellers, measuring
values of torque and thrust. The
underwater part of the system,
realised in stainless steel and
aluminium league, contains the
dynamometer which measures the values
of torque and thrust. The
external part allows the immersion of
the propeller up to 900 mm by means of
a vertical fin, the yaw positioning of
+/- 90° and the pitch positioning of
+/- 15°. On the apparatus is
installed a brush-less motor with
maximum torque of 40 Nm up to 3000
rpm.

Structure for the
automatic movement and control of electro-fans
for wind generation on ship models in
naval basin
The structure has been
realised in such a manner to execute
the movements of Y translation and yaw of a metallic panel frame
which contains axial electro-fans so
to simulate the action of the wind on
ship models.

System for the 3-dimensional
positioning of laser device for measures in
naval basin and circulating water channel
The system allows to realise a
3-dimensional positioning of laser devices or
any other instrument utilised for high
precision measures. Translations of the
elements are realised by means of precision
rails and actuated by step motors with closed
loop control, coupled with ball bearing
screws. The entire structure is realised in
stainless steel and aluminium league.

Auxiliary dynamometric
carriage for tests on models in naval towing basin
The structure allows to execute
hydrodynamic tests on models in naval towing tank.
The reticular frame, that
constitute the carriage, gives to the system an high structural
stiffness which allows to minimize vertical and horizontal
oscillations under variable forces.
Main utilised materials for the
construction of the four main elements constituting the structure are
squared section tubular in carbon steel. The carriage has been realised
so to minimize translation friction so to consent manual thrust
movement, and is also provided with two towing rods for the connection
to the existing towing dynamometric carriage.
